Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) – Summer 2024

HAF is back for the summer holidays!

The Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme enables local authorities in England to deliver inclusive, enriching activities including a hot meal over the school holidays. For the summer holidays, eligible children can book 16 free places, up to four hours a day.

The Staffordshire HAF programme will run at various locations in local areas starting from Tuesday 23rd July – Friday 30th August.

It’s funded for children and young people aged 5 – 16 years who receive benefit related free school meals. For a full overview, please watch this video.

How do parents/carers book?

All parents will be sent an email from Staffordshire County Council with their child’s individual HAF code. The schools will also be requested to share information and booking details with all eligible children.

  1. Activities can be viewed on their website prior to bookings going live on July 1 and will be updated accordingly throughout June.
  2. There will be a ‘Book Now’ button on their HAF page on the county council website when bookings open.
  3. Parents/carers can register an account via their booking platform on their website
  4. Parents will need their HAF code to hand to book the activities of their choice

Booking will be open on Monday 1 July 2024

To avoid disappointment, parents/carers should book as soon as possible at: www.staffordshire.gov.uk/holidayactivities or scan the QR code on their letter from school.

What about children who do not receive free school meals?

Some of the holiday clubs will also have places that can be paid for.

Some children can be referred via professionals to access a HAF place by requesting a professional referral form by their team. Please email: [email protected]
