The Oak Trust

Grants are available for registered UK charities that are supporting people who are disadvantaged, plus there is assistance for medical and environmental groups.

Grants are made between the values of £250 and £4,000.

UK registered charities are eligible to apply.

Preference will be given to small charities with a turnover below £1 million.

Support is available to UK charities that are working in areas of the world where the needs from deprivation, natural disaster or conflict are beyond what the national government can provide.

Consideration will be given to the following:

  • People who are disadvantaged (in the widest sense).
  • Personal development through adventure.
  • The environment.
  • Whether the charity will be able to bring life-changing benefits to its clients.
  • Whether a small grant (e.g. £500) will really make a difference to the charity.
  • How challenging the raising of the money for the particular cause will be
  • The number of people assisted per pound spent.
  • The viability of the charity and where the rest of the money will come from.
  • How much the charity spends on fund-raising and administration.
  • Whether the charity works locally, nationally or internationally.

Applications may be submitted at any time and are considered twice a year:

  • Spring application deadline: 1 April
  • Autumn application deadline: 1 October

An online application form is available at the Trust website. Applicants will be notified within 10 days of the meeting.
