It’s TrusteesWeek!
The time of year when we celebrate the amazing contribution made by trustees for their charities and recognise the difference they make. You can find out about this week’s range of events and access free guidance and resources at www.trusteesweek.org
Did you know that many organisations, large and small, cannot exist without a committee of Trustees or Board Members? These unpaid volunteers ensure that the organisation adheres to its governing principles and does all that it practicably can to achieve its mission. They use their life experience and skills to help the organisation to be the best that it can be.
Would you consider being a Trustee of a local charity?
- Being a Trustee doesn’t require qualifications.
- Relevant skills and experience are great to bring to the role, however equally important is a passion for the work that the charity does.
- Trustees are often the decision makers of a charity and guide the direction of focus.
- Roles are varied depending upon the charity, and a great way of contributing to and supporting great causes.
- Trustee roles usually require attending meetings in the evenings, so perfect to fit in around any work and family commitments, and a great way of helping out if you want to volunteer but are worried about time commitments.
