Build a Business with Caring Purpose
Join us for a warm welcome, an afternoon of inspiration, and community- business know-how!
If you are already involved in a community business that works in the care sector or if you have ever considered starting a new small business or becoming self-employed within the care sector, this event is for you.
- Hear how Colne Valley Care has established itself as an ethical not-for-profit cooperative business involving both the carers and the service users
- Ask Graham Mitchell, the organisation’s chair, any questions about the journey so far and what he feels are the successes and downfalls he’d advise you to look out for.
- Hear about an exciting new project coming soon to Staffordshire that supports micro providers – local people setting up small (micro) businesses that can provide local services for people who need some help and support, and discover how you can be involved.
- Talk to Support Staffordshire or Business Enterprise Support and Staffordshire County Council representatives for advice and guidance on the first steps towards starting a new enterprise or community project.
- Network with fellow start-ups or care organisations to foster future working relationships.
- Discover what is involved in running a community project, social enterprise or commercial business/self-employment and which option is right for you (social enterprise or commercial business)
