The Adint Charitable Trust, a registered charity, was established 50 years ago with a generous endowment from the late Henry Edwards. In the last 50 years the Trust has donated over £12 million in nominal terms to charitable causes.
The Trust offers funding to UK registered charities for a range of general charitable work.
Funding is at the discretion of the Trustees. The total amount of funding awarded each year varies, but tends to be around £450,000. Last year it was £470,000.
Grants are either for £5,000 or £10,000, though a few larger grants may be awarded.
UK charities registered with the Charity Commission may apply.
Only national bodies can apply. (This funding is not available to local branches of national bodies.)
To be eligible, applicants must
- Have a registered charity number.
- Have a bank account in the group’s name.
- Be able to demonstrate that their aims are for public benefit.
The Trust does not maintain a website or a standard application form.
Applications are considered at the regular meetings of the trustees and grants are awarded throughout the year.
Applications should be in writing and incorporate full details of the charity for which funding is requested. No acknowledgements will be sent out to unsuccessful applicants.
The Trustees are unable to enter into correspondence or arrange meetings and will only contact an applicant if their application is successful.
