More in Common World Cafe

Where: The Dudson Centre, Stoke-on-Trent, ST1 5DD

When: Thursday 23rd January 2025 10am – 12:30

A More In Common World Cafe round table session is being held with VAST on the 23rd January.

The event is aimed at voluntary and community sector groups based in Stoke that support Jo Cox’s powerful ‘more in common’ message and want to bridge divides in their communities.

Please book on eventbrite.

Through the UK More in Common Network, we’re building a movement of people who are skilled and confident in identifying and bridging divides. While the Network is made up of different groups and partnerships, we are united by a shared ‘more in common approach’ that emphasises connection across lines of difference and demonstrates unity and cohesion.

Join us at the More In Common World Cafe at the Dudson Centre on 23rd January 2025, where we will get to know each other over food and refreshments.

We will:

  • Talk about what we know of division and tensions in our communities.
  • Share example of great community organising to connect people over shared concerns.
  • Hear about the More In Common partnership developing across Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent.
  • Help shape a new way of working to strengthen communities to respond to conflict and tackle local priorities.
  • Find out about training and other networking opportunities coming up
