The various Voluntary Car Schemes that run across the county provide an amazing service for people to get out and about where public transport would be too lengthy, too expensive or not physically possible. These groups rely on wonderful volunteer drivers to take people to pre-arranged appointments, which is a lifeline to many people who would otherwise be unable to attend these important appointments for their health and wellbeing.
Would you consider helping in your area? Drivers will be required to undertake a DBS check and of course will need to have a valid driving licence. The number of journeys undertaken is variable depending on the drivers availability, and it’s a great way of giving back to the community and helping people in need. If you like driving, having a chat and you have some time to spare then this could be for you!
There are various roles available around the county – some are listed below and you can click on the links below to find out more. If your area isn’t in the list below, get in touch with us via our email [email protected] and we’ll help you to find a local role.
