Damien, one of the project participants on the NewStart4U programme, had returned from the Christmas break with a newfound drive and eagerness to continue his journey back towards employment.
Damien has since commenced volunteering with Compton Care charity shop in Cannock and truly stepped up to the mark by doing several days across the week. With support from manager Sarah he’s commenced training on all aspects of the store, including on the till and with customer engagement.
Volunteering Officer Adam had visited the store, with Damien talking him through some of the new skills he had learned, particularly on how he ensures items on the shop floor are circulated round.
As per the NewStart4U programme, candidates are encouraged to volunteer to fill gaps in CV.
