THE NEXT STEPS: TRUSTEE RECRUITMENT AND SUCCESSION PLANNING

Who is this for:

This session is aimed at anyone with responsibility for running a voluntary and community organisation, primarily Trustees and Directors. The session will explore the recruitment process to ensure yours is as robust as possible and to develop a plan for your organisation so that the loss of a Trustee does not adversely affect activities.

Overview:

Are you struggling to encourage people to become a Trustee with your organisation? Do you find it difficult to fill gaps in skills on your Board? Would you like to develop a succession plan when Trustees retire? This session discusses each of these challenges and explores solutions to them through the experiences of Support Staffordshire, the training team and previous participants in this session.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Identify gaps in the skills of your Board of Trustees.
  • Describe the primary duties of Trustees.
  • Evaluate your organisation’s current trustee recruitment process.
  • Explore how to plan for succession of Trustees.
