The funding is intended to support projects that focus on the Trust’s three main aims:
- To promote education about the countryside for young people from towns and cities and those who are disadvantaged.
- To provide facilities for those who are disabled, who have learning difficulties or who are in some way disadvantaged to enjoy the benefits of the countryside.
- To support the advancement of education in agriculture, horticulture and conservation for disadvantaged people, particularly the young.
Grants of up to £5,000 are available.
Occasionally, multi-year funding may be awarded at the discretion of the trustees.
Applications will be accepted from small and medium-sized charities and not-for-profit organisations such as Community Interest Companies based in England and Wales.
To be eligible, applicants must have a current safeguarding policy and must not have received a grant from CLACT in the previous three years.
Applications are particularly welcomed for projects for children and young people, disadvantaged financially, physically, mentally, or from areas of deprivation.
Priority is given to smaller organisations with a turnover of less than £1.5 million. Larger organisations may still apply but are less likely to be successful.
