In 2024/25, the small grants programme will open for applications as follows:
- August: education and heritage and conservation funding themes.
- February: social inclusion and health and wellbeing funding themes.
King Charles III Charitable Fund (KCCF) is the working name of The Prince of Wales’s Charitable Foundation. Founded in 1979 to support the then Prince of Wales’s charitable work, it aims to transform lives and build sustainable communities by funding a wide range of good causes within its core funding themes.
Over the past 40 years, the fund has invested more than £100 million in charitable causes in the UK and overseas.
Grants of up to £5,000 are available per year for three years. The maximum amount that can be applied for is £15,000 in total and the average award is £2,000.
The total cost of the project should not exceed £200,000
Approximately 100 community-based organisations are awarded grants each year.
Applications are accepted from UK registered not-for-profit organisations, including charities, community interest companies and parish councils, that have:
- An annual income of up to £1 million.
- Completed at least two years of activity.
- Less than six months of free reserves.
Applicants must have waited at least one year from the date of any previous unsuccessful application or one year from the date of the end of the award period for previously successful applicants.
In the current round, applications will only be accepted from organisations for projects/activities in the education and heritage and conservation funding themes.
To apply for a small grant, your organisation must:
- Be a UK registered non-profit organisation
- Have an annual income of less than £1 million
- Have completed two years of activity
- Have less than 6 months free reserves
- If seeking funding for a project, the total cost of the project should not exceed £200,000
The fund aims to support small-scale projects that have the potential to create substantial impacts within their communities, especially those that typically face challenges in accessing larger funding sources.
Grants will be awarded across 6 funding themes:
- environment
- countryside
- social inclusion
- health and wellbeing
- heritage and conservation
- education
