Member Support and Engagement Coordinator

Project Indi is a local grassroots charity based in Stoke on Trent. We support vulnerable and disabled adults, children, and their families to reach their full potential.

We support our members to regularly access a range of diverse activities and workshops at our inclusive hub, The Indi Club. We are partnered and work with a variety of local businesses, activity providers and workshop leaders to deliver specialised activity programmes that aim to empower independence, champion inclusion, and promote physical and emotional wellbeing.

Role Overview

Working as part of The Indi Club team, you will deliver an entertaining and engaging activities programme, that supports the independence and wellbeing of vulnerable and disabled adults and children. You will work closely with our members and deliver person-centred support in a group environment, to help our members live their lives more independently and to reach their full potential.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside the Community Development and Engagement Coordinator to develop and deliver specialised activities, community events, and workshops.
  • Develop, coordinate and deliver our Skills For Life programme.
  • Work with our members to develop specific and measurable outcomes, and complete regular wellbeing checks.
  • To support with the recruitment, assessment, and induction of new members.
  • Assist in the running and development of The Indi Club, including organising consumables, general appearance, cleaning and supporting visitors.
  • Engage and build positive, trusted relationships with our members and support them to integrate and thrive.
  • To manage stock taking, stock control and ordering consumables.
  • Assist with the delivery of private hire events, including the running of the bar and light cleaning duties.
  • Arrange and attend outreach visits in the community to promote the charity and support new members to access the service.
  • Supervise, train and support students and volunteers throughout their placement, and observe and provide feedback to support the progression of the work placement.

About You

If you have experience of working with vulnerable and disabled adults in the community, then this could be the role for you! You will have great organisational skills and the ability to motivate and inspire our members to participate and thrive in social activities, to help combat social isolation and learn new skills. You will need to work on your own initiative, be creative and have a ‘can do’ attitude to be successful in this role. You will have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

The people we support, and their families are at the centre of what we do. We are looking for individuals who have the right skills, experience, and ability to provide high quality support to really make a difference.

Hours of work: 28-37.5 hours per week – The hours will be determined to suit the right candidate. There will be a requirement to work occasional weekends when required.

Rate of Pay: £25,000 (Full Time Equivalent).

Holidays: 20 days annual leave, plus bank holidays and Christmas shutdown

Interviews: will be held on an ongoing basis. Please note we may close the position early if a suitable candidate is found.

Who we are looking for: You will be a friendly, confident, and professional team player with excellent organisation and communication skills. Computer literate and have experience of working with Microsoft Office packages. Own vehicle and driving licence is essential for the post.
