Project Officer – Volunteering for Health
37 hours per week
Salary £28,000-£32,000 per annum plus 5% pension contribution
22 days holiday plus 3 concessionary days and bank holidays
About Us
VAST is a registered charity dedicated to supporting and empowering the Voluntary, Community, and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector in Stoke-on-Trent. We aim to foster strong local networks, strengthen community engagement, and build the capacity of local community groups. We work with statutory partners and wider stakeholders to advocate for the role of the VCSE sector.
The Role
We are looking for a motivated Project Officer to lead the work on our Volunteering for Health programme across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent.
The role, hosted at VAST, will work across the project partners Support Staffordshire and the Integrated Care System’s (ICS) Health and Care People Team to deliver the programme’s core aims:
- Deliver a step change in the volume of volunteering and the range of volunteering opportunities across the ICS;
- Ensure volunteers have a positive and rewarding experience;
- Create the infrastructure to enable ICS workforce to volunteer themselves, building VCSE sector capacity, whilst improving their own health & wellbeing;
- Enable strategic leadership and system wide learning to drive forward the Volunteering for Health programme.

- Ability to contribute ideas, shape a workplan, manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and administrative systems.
