Tamworth Volunteering Opportunities – October

Summer has come and gone and now October is here. The leaves are beginning to turn orange and the month of ghosts and ghouls is upon us, but there is nothing to be afraid of when it comes to Volunteering! I highly encourage you to please take a look at the Volunteering roles below, only a small selection of the roles that can be found on our Volunteering Search Engine!

Befriending Call Volunteer

“We are looking for people who have a good telephone manor to chat to people who are lonely and isolated with no natural networks of support. Calls will be over the telephone to have a friendly conversation about their week, talk about their interests, pick up on any concerns or issues that may require a referral for support.”

Volunteer Driver

“We are looking for volunteer drivers to take people from the Tamworth Community to hospital appointments, both locally and surrounding hospital.

Driver must inform his own Insurance company of the fact of taking patients and escorts in their vehicle. Preferably with a 4 door vehicle.”

Social Media Volunteer

“This is an exciting opportunity to support shops with managing different social media channels. With an aim to maximise engagement, promote volunteering and raise awareness of Oxfam’s campaigns.

We will give you all the training and support you need so you will develop your skills as part of our team. You don’t need to have any experience – we’ve got you covered. You can also get some lunch and travel costs too. Whatever you need, we’re here to help.”

Muscular Dystrophy UK Volunteer

“What you’ll be doing:

  • Ensure that supporters have the resources they need to be successful in their fundraising. Understanding that as a smaller charity the resources we have available to our supporters and the best way to utilise them
  • Signpost to the RDM if you spot potential from a supporter.
  • Be an enthusiastic MDUK ambassador, building its profile locally.
  • Work with your Regional Development Manager to enable the role operates within MDUK’s guidelines to ensure regulatory compliance.”
