The Access Foundation

Grants are available to registered charities, CICs, educational establishments and CIOs for projects that mitigate the digital divide by making computing facilities, support and/or learning available to disadvantaged and vulnerable people.

Grants of between £25,000 and £100,000 are generally available.

The funding will normally support a project that completes within a 12-month period.

By exception, the Foundation considers supporting a longer running multi-year project and in such cases would consider applications with proportionately larger values.

Last year, the Foundation awarded £2.18 million through 119 grants.

Applications will be accepted from registered charities, CICs, educational establishments and CIOs.

CICs that are not registered charities must be established for community purposes to apply.

The funding is for specific services, activities, initiatives or projects with clearly identified and measurable outcomes. Last year, the grants focused on physical and mental health, social exclusion, the young and the elderly and areas of neurodiversity such as autism and learning disabilities.

Details of recently funded projects can be found on the Access Foundation website.

The guidelines and the online application form can be found on The Access Foundation website.

All grant applications will be subject to initial assessment to ensure they meet the basic criteria for funding. Applicants must be prepared to provide further information as the Foundation may reasonably require in order to assist them in their decision-making and due diligence process. Grants will be considered by the Foundation and the Foundation will aim to write to all applicants informing them of the outcome, or the next requested steps, of their application for funding within 12 weeks.
