Four new affordable food hubs coordinated by The Bread and Butter Thing have opened up in East Staffordshire this winter and they are looking for volunteers to get involved.
These new hubs will offer East Staffordshire residents fresh and healthy food at budget-friendly prices. The Bread and Butter Thing partner with big supermarkets like Morrisons, Co-op and Sainsbury’s, all kinds of manufacturers and even farmers to redistribute their surplus produce.
Each hub recruits and manages its own volunteers. Hub volunteers help unpack the van, set out the food packing stations, pack bags and serve members.
Each hub operates at a different time but usually around lunchtime. A volunteer shift lasts 2-3 hours.
