As Volunteers’ Week draws to a close, I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere thanks to Support Staffordshire’s own volunteers. We have an amazing team of volunteers in many different roles – Healthwatch Volunteers, Support Buddies, Volunteer Advisors, Community Connectors, Admin Volunteers, Wildlife Recorders, Event Volunteers and, last but not least, our Board Members. Your time and expertise adds significant value to what we offer local communities and brings with it local knowledge and insight too.
Secondly, I want to thank the whole Volunteering team at Support Staffordshire, who enable and support local people to get involved in their community, when otherwise they probably would not have done, and in so doing, brighten the lives and improve the wellbeing of the volunteers themselves.
Which brings me neatly on to the many thousands of Staffordshire folk who volunteer, whether week in week out or once a year, by giving a little or a lot to your community, in whatever form, through your own freewill, without expectation of payment or reward, you pour a little more community spirit into our part of the world, and together enrich lives for all.
Thank you all!
Garry Jones, Chief Executive of Support Staffordshire
