Trustee Roles available in Lichfield District

Thinking about being a Trustee?  It’s great way to support your local community and we have some very rewarding roles available in Lichfield District at the moment that may suit YOU!

Lichfield Waterworks Trust is a group of volunteers dedicated to preserving Sandfields Water Pumping Station with its fascinating history and unique Victorian Pumping Engine.  Since February 2017 its volunteers have cleaned, maintained and researched the building and engine, with occasional openings to the public.   This historic pumping station was fundamental to eradicating cholera in the Black Country by supplying clean water from Lichfield!

The Trust are looking for a Trustee to join them to be able to make a real contribution to a new visitor attraction which will keep alive one of the key parts of Lichfield’s heritage.   The Trustee will help to provide, with other Board members, the overall strategic direction and governance of the trust while applying and developing skills and knowledge.  Opportunities in general management, community engagement, visitor welcoming, and guiding, engineering, building, finance and heritage/archives are available among others.

They are also looking for a Finance Manager to manage the day-to-day finances of the trust including income and expenditure, investments, donations and bequests.  Working with the board of trustees, they will contribute to the strategic direction of the organisation and advise on projects and longer term financial issues.

Would you like the opportunity to work with others on the Lichfield Pumping Station, a unique charitable enterprise that will enhance the heritage, cultural and community landscape of the City and the District?   If you’re interested in finding out more, please have a look at the role descriptions here:
