#VillageHallsWeek is returning this March to celebrate everything village halls can do to ‘go green’.
It will look at how buildings can be made more energy efficient, and how management committees can support sustainable and environmentally friendly behaviours in their community.
During the week (18-24 March) ACRE and ACRE members will be encouraging as many halls as possible to hold their own events, share their stories and get inspiration from others.
So now is the time to think about your ideas or events for Village Halls Week 2024. The theme this year is Go Green, but you can do whatever you feel in terms of activity. Here’s some suggestions:
- Prepare and share #VillageHallsWeek stories on social media.
- Hold an open day/ event.
- Write to your MP.
- Get in touch with local journalists.
- Consult your community on ideas for going green.
- Any other ideas welcome.
Please also let us know what you are planning so that we may be able to visit you and promote your involvement in the campaign, or register your event or activity to the interactive map available on this link https://acre.org.uk/village-halls-week-2024-local-events/ .
You can apply for resources which will include bunting, badges, and posters. There are only 500 packs available so first come, first served. https://acre.org.uk/village-halls-week-2024
The Support Staffordshire Rural Team will be hosting an in person Village Hall network meeting on 12th March 2024 at Great Bridgeford Village Hall. Please see the event details here.
