The Brewood and District Voluntary Car Scheme provide much needed transport to clinics, hospital and similar medical appointments at a modest charge to the community, enabling them to attend appointments that they otherwise may not be able to attend.
Covering a remote area with little public transport provision, this beneficial community service is always in demand. Volunteer drivers are needed to join the existing team to enable the car scheme to continue providing this important service.
Based in Brewood, the car scheme has been running for over 10 years and covers Brewood, Coven, Coven Heath, Wheaton Aston, Calf Heath, Bishops Wood, Blymhill, Weston Under Lizard, Lapley, Stretton and Hatherton. At moment drivers are urgently needed in the Blymhill, Weston Under Lizard, Lapley and Stretton areas.
The role is flexible to fit around your other commitments and highly rewarding. Drivers use their own car but are paid a mileage rate to cover their fuel costs. The role will require a DBS check, paid for by the scheme.
If you’re local to Brewood and would like to join the car scheme and help your local community, they would love to hear from you! The role description and contact details can be found here: http://www.vcconnectsystem.org.uk/SupportStaffordshireVMS2/VolunteerOpportunities/DetailsForSearch/5150
