Volunteering Opportunities in Tamworth, February 2024

Well, January felt like it just rushed on by and the December Holiday feels like an age ago, 2024 is steaming ahead and the year truly begins now. So! Now we’ve had time to recover from the New Year celebrations and we have got back on track, let’s make this year the best we can!
And if your best year involves Volunteering this year, which if you’re reading this I certainly hope you’re at least curious about it, let us at Support Staffordshire help you for the best role for you. Take a look at some options just below!

Tamworth Street Angels Volunteer, Tamworth Street Angels

Tamworth Street Angels is all about ensuring people are able to feel safe on the streets of our town. We offer support, care and assistance to anyone who needs it and to those who become vulnerable during a night out.

Speak Out Stay Safe Volunteer, NSPCC

As a Speak out. Stay safe. volunteer in your local area you will visit primary schools to deliver Speak out. Stay safe. workshops that teach children about the different types of abuse and how they can speak out and stay safe.

Checker Volunteer, Tamworth District Scout Council

We are looking for someone to check our building over before 9am. Ideally every weekday morning or any day that someone can help, so if you can only spare an hour on just say one morning or a couple of mornings during the week that will be great.

WaterAid Speaker Volunteer, WaterAid

WaterAid Speakers are trained volunteers that deliver inspiring talks and workshops, to raise awareness about the importance of clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene, to transform peoples’ lives for good.

Peer Support Volunteer, Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide (SOBS)

We have self-help support groups across the UK, where you can meet with other people who have been bereaved by suicide and we want establish a number of groups around Staffordshire. Typically, our groups meet once a month and last for around 2 hours. Presently many groups are meeting virtually via Zoom but when regulations allow, they will return to Face to Face. They provide an opportunity to listen, to share, to ask questions and to connect with others.

There are plenty more opportunities with a variety of different groups, if you’d like to find out more then please get in touch with myself and I am very happy to help you find the role you’d find the most satisfaction in! Next stop, March!
