As a Communities Officer for the Jo Fox Foundation, Staffordshire’s Penny Vincent is no stranger to helping charities.
While most of us were finishing off those boxes of chocolates or adding extra calories to that left over pudding, for more exotic delights, Penny decided to use her love of outdoor swimming to raise money for a much needed charity.
Raising over £1000 with her friend Melanie, a Wild About Tamworth Officer at Staffordshire Wildlife Trust, the two endured the cold weather to complete their 10K swim for Cancer Research UK and no-one can blame them for swimming in Fenton Manor pool when the outdoor temperatures just got too much.
“My family members and friends have faced bowel cancer, lung cancer and breast cancer and I’m very grateful for the invaluable treatment they received thanks to Cancer Research”. said Penny.
