Amazing Young Volunteers Raise over £250 for Lichfield Homeless Charity

A group of friends, all 10 years old, have selflessly spent their Saturday morning outside Shenstone Community Library running a fundraising stall raising money for Lichfield Street Aid. With brilliant support and encouragement from their families and from the Library who provided the gazebo and tables, the friends sold their handmade bracelets, positivity rocks, toys and lots of donated goods to the local community and visitors to the library.

When asked why they had chosen this charity, they all agreed that they didn’t like the idea that some people didn’t have a safe place to sleep, and that they wanted to help them. Having previously done some fundraising for another charity, it made perfect sense to use their well practiced skills to get fundraising again!

We hope you’ll agree that Polly, Annie, Cailin and Mia are inspirational, and Support Staffordshire presented them with their own Mini Volunteering Bug as they have certainly ‘caught the volunteering bug’! They all loved running their fundraising stall and were very professional and polite with their customers. ‘Volunteering is really fun!’ they said, and they are looking forward to their next volunteer fundraising mission!

The sunshine held out for a lovely morning at Shenstone Community Library, and they had lots of shoppers, helping them to raise an amazing £251.56 for Lichfield Street Aid and putting the FUN in fundraising!

Well done team, you’re brilliant volunteering ambassadors, and we hope you’ll help us to get everyone to ‘Catch the Volunteering Bug’ !
