Spotlight on: Cannock Chase National Landscape annual conference
On a very warm day in June, a group of people gathered at the Beaudesert Golf Club on Cannock Chase. Residents, community organisations, local councillors, council officers and guest speakers heard about the successful projects delivered across Cannock Chase in the past year – these ranged from community activities, new ways of educating local people (including virtual reality), species recovery, habitat improvements, and celebrating heritage.
We also heard from guest speakers, who spoke passionately about the importance of inclusion and belonging in national landscapes, how to finance future projects through private investment, examples of long-term landscape improvements, and a fresh look at how to engage local communities and businesses to create a sense of pride in place.

Funding
ScottishPower Foundation – General Grants
Grants are available to registered charities in the UK for 12 month projects that support education, environmental protection, arts, culture and social initiatives.
The 2026 round closes on 18 July 2025.
Grants of between £35,000 and £150,000 are available. The average grant in the past three years was £60,000.
