Staffordshire & Stoke-on-Trent Local Government Changes: What We Know So Far

Following yesterday’s announcement confirming plans for two new councils across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent, we wanted to provide some reassurance to our members and partners.
For many voluntary organisations, community groups and charities, announcements about local government reorganisation can raise questions about funding, support services, partnerships and future ways of working. While it is natural to be curious about what these changes might mean, it’s important to remember that these proposals represent the beginning of a process that will take time to develop.

Business as Usual
At this stage, there are no immediate changes to the support services we provide for Staffordshire’s voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector.
We remain committed to supporting organisations, volunteers and communities across the areas we serve, just as we always have. Our work continues as normal, and existing projects, programmes and partnerships remain in place.

What Happens Next?
As plans progress, more information is expected to become available about how the new council arrangements will work in practice.

Like many organisations across the county, we will be following developments closely and engaging with relevant partners to better understand any implications for the VCSE sector. Our focus will be on ensuring that the voices of local communities, volunteers and charities continue to be heard throughout the process.

Keeping You Informed
We understand how important clear and timely communication is during periods of change.
As further details emerge, we will share relevant updates, guidance and opportunities for engagement with our members and partners. We are committed to providing straightforward information that helps organisations understand what is happening and what it may mean for them.

We’re Here to Support You
Change can often bring uncertainty, but it can also create opportunities for collaboration, innovation and stronger community partnerships.

For now, there is no need for concern. It is very much business as usual, and we’ll continue to support Staffordshire’s communities every step of the way.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with our team.

We’ll continue to monitor developments and share updates as more information becomes available.
