The Voluntary Car Scheme is urgently seeking volunteer drivers to support local people across the Lichfield, Cannock Chase and Burntwood areas.
The scheme provides a vital community transport service, helping people who would otherwise struggle to attend important appointments and activities. Volunteer drivers use their own cars to provide friendly, reliable transport for those in need.
What the Voluntary Car Scheme Does
The service helps people make a range of essential journeys, including:
•Medical appointments, including GP surgeries, hospitals, dentists, opticians and chiropodists
•Visiting friends & relatives
•Shopping and banking trips
•Collecting prescriptions
•Attending funerals
•Social clubs and community activities
By volunteering as a driver, you can make a real difference to the lives of people in your local community, helping them stay connected, independent and able to access the services they need.
Become a Volunteer Driver
If you have a few hours to spare each week, you could help deliver this much-needed service within your local community. A fuel allowance is paid to volunteer drivers.
Volunteering with the scheme is a rewarding way to support people who may otherwise be unable to access essential services, healthcare appointments and social opportunities.
